Fútbol de Salón (FDS) is different from futsal. Futsal is governed by FIFA, while FDS is governed by IFFS and AMF. Although they look similar, each sport has its own rules.
In Central and South America, FDS is often more popular than soccer, especially among kids aged 5 to 14. While soccer rules from age 15 and up, FDS helps younger players develop skills like ball control, decision-making, and speed, agility and quickness.
